Okay, I guess the only useful suggestion I gave
earlier was the Priory one. Still, that reminds me of
a Call of Cthulhu game I'd got into before I gave UA a
chance.

It was a Live game and there was a door in the
basement which the GM had put a strobe light behind
and a tape of weird scratching sounds, sloshing and
what sounded like fervent whispers.  There was a
little sign saying the door was locked.  The GM and
NPCs were all townspeople who both refused to open the
door and to admit anything might be going on behind
it.  The PCs, investigating some ritual murders, did
everything in their power to get the door open, of
course.  Our actions made us seem insane and the
townspeople very normal, despite their constant state
of denial.

I eventually got the door open.  All that was on the
other side was a note, suspended in the air, which
said:

"It is very important you follow these stage
directions immediately and without further comment,
all will be explained:
Please Scream and Pretend to Die while being sucked
into the room."
