Actually, I always thought their point was to destroy as much of the
Flying Woman's power as they could, by simultaneously presenting girls
with the sorts of brainless role models that feminists complain about
while presenting a phony veneer of 'girl power'. This confuses and waters
down the archetype's message, etc.
