First, I'd like to say "hello" to this list again,
since I'm a long time lurker. I've post a couple of
time, but I prefer to say nothing when I've nothing to
say.
Still...
"In fact I've been thinking of running a whole
game about guerilla documentary makers who
make films about the occult underground and
circulate them among fringe elements. Basically
the Chronicle meets Cecil B. Demented in a
head on collision. I'd think that they'd have
an artifact camera or some such that has the Power of
the Press and Magic of the Media which
keeps them safe while filming and reporting."
Funny how memes roam around... In fact I've been
thinking of *doing* this kind of documentary. A friend
and I (plus some other people) are pre-producing a
little film (10 or 15 min maximum), ala "Man Bites
Dog" and Dogma movies, about the OU.
So far we've got an more or less precise idea of what
will go on during this false doc, a bunch of
characters, and the legal authorisation to use a
firearm during the shoot.
We've also got a little experience of cam handling and
film making (*very* little experience - I've done a
clip for a friend, a psyche rocker, and a couple of
flavor films for exhibits), but we've got this silly
idea and we're curious to see how far we can go.
This raises a couple of questions. First: what about
the intellectual property and the copyright of UA
material? We don't plan to *sell* this movie, mind you
(we'll be happy if it's *viewable*), but if we manage
to finish it, we're thinking of distributing it freely
on the 'net (DIVX format). Will Mr Stolze or Mr Tynes
agree about that?
Second: wouldn't it be cool if other movies like that
are done? Are there here some people liking this idea?
