So, obviously, the Duelist is about fair fights. I
like that, it's a good obsession. (Also it reminds me
of this terrible late 80s TV show called "The
Equalizer" for some reason.) Maybe the duelist's
channels can "even the odds" in a different way.

Hmmm... Sorta. What if you could add or subtract up
to your avatar skill from two opponent's combat
scores? How about their scores in any competitive
skill?
Basically, you use your Avatar skill to make two
opponents equally matched (even if you're one of the
opponents.) That'd be pretty cool. You sometimes
have to use your Avatar skill to lower one of your
abilities, so it'd be a fair fight (or chess match or
whatever.)
Again, that level of abstraction thing makes a pretty
good rule of thumb.

That's pretty good, but I'd make it the middle
channel.

How about: the Duelist can treat any number of
opponents as one opponent, doing damage equally to all
of them, or something like that?
