Well, yeah! They had a lot of money. That was one of
the reasons they could afford to be a) heretics and b)
Troublesome for so long.
I've always liked the idea that these gnostic-spinoffs
actually HAD a holy grail. They had one made special,
with all the gems and gold and ornamentation which
they thought truly belonged on such a potent symbol.
Maybe they even hid it away in those tunnels up in the
mountains people like Henry Lincoln are always going
on about.
Incidentally and, perhaps more apprapos to UA, some
people are citing "Holy Blood, Holy Grail" in an
attempt to promote tourism of the Languedoc region.
