My favorite bit from this comes from section 8: a source finds a photocopied 
document that's apparently a list of military personnel assigned to some 
alien contact project.  The list is headed:

UNITED  FEDERATED  PLANETS
STARFLEET  INTERNATIONAL
U.S.S. CONCORD  NCC-1989
CREW ROSTER

...that this is actually the name of a Star Trek fanclub, as a quick web 
search will reveal, appears to be mere coincidence.  The Mojave folks took 
this list *very* seriously.
