"STUART ANDERSON" wrote >I kinda got a kick out of the the frou fra fra this >Christmas as the fundamentalists embraced the >formerly hated Tolkien when faced with the >infinitely more evil Harry Potter Ahhh ... then you've not seen the Christian (By which I mean Fundamentalist) movie reviews at http://www.capalert.com/capreports/ Lord of the Rings (http://www.capalert.com/capreports/lordofrings_fellowship.htm) scored 59% (100% means that the movie is absolutely fine for christian children, by the standards CAP have set.) It scores 0 on Wanton Violence and Offence to God (Mainly because Gandalf uses magic to fight evil. ) Harry Potter (http://www.capalert.com/capreports/harrypottersorc.htm) scored 55%, again scoring very low on Violence and Offence against God. Mary Poppins is the only film that score 100%. The fact that Mary Poppins uses magic to solve problems is okay though, "While there were several occurences of "magic," there was nothing evil or sinister about any of the "magic." Mary could have been angelic. " So Gandalf can't be an Angel, but Mary can. Anyhow; that's one Fundamentalist point of view. Not my own, I hasten to add. John ps:
