Stay away from the zee-list. I was on it back in 1996, and it was a nice
break from the flaming and ego tripping of usenet. When usenet became
deprioritized from most users online experience the mailing lists picked up
usenet's slack and quit being an alternative.
Now it's a festering pile. Flaming is considered a beautiful thing.
Everyone tries to feed their own delusions of granduer. Paranoia sits along
with their bizzare imitation of libertarianism so that forwarding something
from the list or ccing something to the list and another address will get
moderator action against you. On the other hand, digging up someone's
personal information, such as their real name, address, phone number, social
security number, place of employment, credit card numbers with expiration
dates and their work schedule to post on the list along with threats gets a
brief once over.
And when someone complains about that being done to them the list jumps in
to flame that person off the list for being "an overly sensitive asshole"
and campaigns to keep falming them once they are off the list until they
abandon their e-mail address.
The only good thing I can say about it is that infek is dead.
If you really want to join send a message to Majordomo at chaosmatrix.com with
the body "subscribe zee-list username at hostname.tld" with you addy in place
of username at hostname.tld
