Hee hee. Okay, no offense intended to Tim. I know this is
a common error, and I don't think any less of Tim for the
above statement.

But I just find it a bit humorous to see "must of" in a
"general education" jab. Of course, now I just doomed
myself; someone is going to find a mistake I made and point
it out.

As for the experience system, I wouldn't say that it's bad.
It is counter-intuitive for those of us who are used to
the "experts must sacrifice a lot to get good" methods that
are prevalent in RPGs. I had to ask about the reasoning
myself. I didn't completely agree with Greg's explanation,
but I understood and accepted it.

Some people will not, and it is good to adopt a system that
is more acceptable in this case. Experience in an RPG is
usually abstract anyway. I think people will be happy as
long as there is something similar to a geometric or
exponential progression in gaining skills. In this case,
they probably don't want to completely mirror real life.

I do like the new system of starting skills at above 1%.
Many players wouldn't consider it worthwhile to learn a new
skill if it takes 55 points to even get it as high as 10%.
I can't wait to see the 2nd Edition.

But hey, it's not a bad system. It's just one that didn't
sit well with the masses. And the rest of the game just
plain kicks ass.

"Hmm, for how long?"
"Until it's drowned. Then you stretch it out under a hot light bulb, then you get within dashing distance of the latrine, and then you scoff it right down."
"So that's sauteing, and fricasseeing?"
"Exactly the same, just a slightly bigger rat."
