I get that reaction consistently from the 'Ol' fraternity story' I tell to
the kids I work with.  Basically, I tell them about something that 'really
happened to me, honestly,' which involves an initiation prank that went
horribly wrong (accidental decapitation, we pledges hid the body and
everyone figured the victim, an asshole no one liked, took off one night and
never returned), and culminates with a world weary sigh, as I disclose that
all my pledge buddies, one by one have wither died a nasty, self-destructive
death, or went insane, and since I'm not dead...

"AAAAAAAUUUGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!"

I've watched hard core gang bangers climb over their best buds, and beat a
path to the door.  Of course, there's always the good natured chuckle after
the fact, and it's revealed that 'it's all a story' -- but none of the kids
look at me the same way again.
