Hate to "me too" but... me too.  I actually got to the point where I
said "This is really stupid.  That's not a ghost.  It's some blurry
blue... ack!"  The "ack" is the near fatal heart attack I had.  :)

The best part was sending it to my girlfriend. 

Now, just so I don't feel bad let's OBUA this.  Someone already
mentioned "Pixelmancer" but that's too obvious.  What if it was an
attempt by a demon or revenant to communicate with someone else.  That
is, they can't actually go up to whoever they need to and say something
like "I'm buried in this basement!"  so they possess a body/computer,
get a picture of the basement, make an animated .gif and pass it around
in hopes someone recognizes the basement and the fact that our little
fiend was associated with it.  The real fun comes from why he can't
communicate directly.  If I could figure that part out, we'd have an
adventure.
