Well... some Irish ones...
Phil Lynott - Lead singer of Thin Lizzy defitely springs to mind. He's
massively famous in Ireland and the band was pretty internationally famous
as well.
Eamon de Valera - Politician, but also a centre point for Irish Culture
for over 40 years. Republican and Conservative, harkening back to a
"simpler" Ireland. Internationally famous as a historical figure, but in
Ireland very much a part of what could be called 'pop culture'.
