I'll pitch in.

Yes, indeedy, Gomer Pyle is from Mayberry. He's cousins with
Goober (played by George Lindsay).

And singing, I believe.

Right.

Barney Fife was allowed one bullet for his guin, which was kept
in his shirt pocket.

Incorrect; you're thinking of Bill Mumy, who went on to LOST IN
SPACE and BABYLON 5, et al. He's also half of Barnes & Barnes,
whose immortal "Fishheads" torments us all deliciously.

Ron Howard was in THE MUSIC MAN pre-Andy Griffith, as well as
AMERICAN GRAFFITTI and HAPPY DAYS.

There's a cast of wildly whacky, but homespun characters: Aunt
Bee, Floyd the Barber, Goober, etc.

Mayberry is in a shared universe composing (at least) THE ANDY
GRIFFITH SHOW, MAYBERRY RFD, and GOMER PYLE, USMC.

Speaking of, I think the Shared Universe of BEVERLY HILLBILLIES
is more cohesive -- I think there are connections between BH,
GREEN ACRES, and PETTICOAT JUNCTION.
