As I understand it, the only central paradox in new-style Wiccanism is that
the central claim of wicca is that it is a ancient religion that predates
Christianity / Islam / etc. while everyone knows that everything but the
window dressing is no more than a few decades old.

Its a new religion whose claim to fame is that it is ancient.  How's that for
a paradox.
