I'll tell you what they are. They're the Kindly Ones from Sandman. C'mon, 
look at the evidence:

1. The Kindly Ones are an expression of the Three-In-One Goddess, as are the 
Cruel Ones. For UA evidence, check out Visions of the Statosphere in

2. They suddenly and inexplicably kill seemingly innocent people, but for 
very orderly, important reasons. And this killing is somehow vital to the 
metaphysics of the world.

3. They have a penchant for swooping about and tearing things up with claws. 
See: the destruction of the Dreaming in Sandman, Garden Full of Weeds in 
Weep.

4. The name.

So c'mon guys, tell me I'm wrong. I'm not saying you ripped'em off, but 
there's an influence there.
