The reason that I mentioned the Chinese cousin is because a group of Jews
settled in eastern China during the 8th Century. They still exist, but not
in any organised sense; their last religious service was in the 1830s or
thereabouts. (For more info, see http://www.kashrus.org/asian/china.html)

I'd just love to see the PCs stumble into all this. "Hmmm... Europeans,
Indians, Africans and a Chinese guy, all not saying a word -- must be the
Mute British Empire Revival Society. Any moment, they'll start swaying
silently to God Save the Queen."

Actually, this isn't such a bad idea. So long as they avoid (if you'll
pardon the term) non-kosher practices, they might be able to get away with
it. OTOH, can they work magick without souls?

Personally, I think that they could show initiative for once. I know, it's
a little out of character, but, then again, I also like the idea of
nonentity karaoke bars, just to be different. ("He was on stage a moment
ago -- then he just disappeared!")

Nice. Very nice.

"'Kevin,' David interrupted, 'what the Germans should have done
was show the Russians a dead cat and ask them to explain it.'

"'That would have stopped the Soviet offensive right there,' I said.
"Zhukov would still be trying to account for the cat's death.'"
