Oh come on, weren't you talking about throwing out the
rules a few minutes ago?

But seriously, I think a few D&D games could be
improved with some sort of UA Passions rules.  I think
3rd Edition D&D is, if not great, at least a
significant improvement to the D&D of my youth.

Why not?  Wouldn't it be a whole lot more fun to
encourage your players to roleplay with rewards rather
then penalizing them for not being human enough
(especially since the humanity of myself and many of
my players has been, quite reasonably, called into
question on more than one occasion.)

Also, even though I often complain about my players,
the Passions rules are a great idea.  Almost everyone
in the group (except the died-in-the-wool Cthulhu guy)
has incorporated Fear/Rage/Noble stimuli or some
variant into their games and we've all enjoyed playing
better for their inclusion.  On the otherhand, we
still suck in almost every other important area of roleplaying.
