I would like to apologise to anyone on the list who may have been offended
by my comments. It was not my intention to do so. However, I would like
to point the following things out:
* There's an emoticon at the end; it is smiling; hence, it is intended as a
joke.
* I'm an expatriate Canberran, and (for better or worse) have a habit which
is not uncommon in those who grew up there: I reserve the right to
good-naturedly dump shit on anything and everything, including myself, my
friends and even things that I like. What can I say? We're weird like that.
* That said, I actually do like the WoD games overall; the system is fairly
simple and transparent, and the background interesting. I love Dark Ages,
but hate Werewolf, Hunter and a few other bits and pieces (WoD: Gypsies
comes to mind). All in all, though, it would be fair to say that I'm fond
of WoD.
* I'm sure that everyone on the list is aware of the stereotypes of WoD
(especially Vampire) players: that they're either munchkins with a case of
"small game syndrome", or angst-ridden goths who can't tell the difference
between roleplaying a character and wholesale histrionics. I don't
consider myself to fall into either category, nor do I expect that most do.
Again, I would like to state that I meant no offence, and my comments were
intended as a joke.
And you might want to get that sore point looked at. #%o)

"'Kevin,' David interrupted, 'what the Germans should have done
was show the Russians a dead cat and ask them to explain it.'
"'That would have stopped the Soviet offensive right there,' I said.
"Zhukov would still be trying to account for the cat's death.'"
