Except that it was Berkeley, with a degree in Magic, and it was one 
of those hippie-dippie "make your own degree program" things they did 
in the 1960s.

OTOH, his book REAL MAGIC is, actually, not bad, modulo the flaming 
biases, but finding a magic book without them will be tricky 
regardless.  Or Regardie-less.
