The Loa are pretty much like this in Kult: they're dead humans who have
gotten very close to Ascension, but aren't quite there. They are
immensely powerful, but they will probably never get pushed over the
edge to ascension. They've been playing these Loa roles for a long, long
time, and they have lost any sense of self beyond their divine personas.
