[UA] Umm... Cliomancer?

So I'm on a list when puts out a load of seemingly-random quotes, one a day
in umpteen languages.
And the best one I've seen yet has no author, which kinda pisses me off,
though it was originally in Spanish:

I can't change the past, but I can change my memories.

Anyone able to tell me whether this is attributable, or just a saying?
I might be able to use it somehow...
