This must be where I differ with some people on the list. Sometimes interesting 
OT stuff is posted here; very often, the OT content here is appallingly boring. 
Nothing personal. I just don't think of this list as my "home on the Net", and 
it is not my primary forum for discussing things like human rights abuses, 
cultural differences, media bias, etcetera: I use Plastic.com for those kinds of 
things, and I find their moderation system makes the read worthwhile. If 
something on one of these topics gets posted to the list, I expect it to be 
explicitly framed in terms of its relevance to UA. I don't ask you guys your 
opinion on buying a car or vent to you about my girlfriend -- I have other 
people for that. I talk to you guys when I'm interested in thinking about UA. 
Please return the favor.

I'm not telling anyone they can't post their pornographic fiction on this list 
because, you know, it relates to pornomancy and is therefore UA-relevant; it 
just means that when that happens, I'll unsubscribe, and I will be sad because I 
will have nowhere to talk to people about UA without having to wade through 
pages and pages (and pages and pages) of conversations about things that are not 
related (enough) to UA.
