The following conversation actually occurred during a game I was in A is
Annhilomancer PC, GM is the GM.

A:  So [Name deleted because he's on this list], you think when I killed
Lace that counted as severing the relationship.

GM:  What are you asking me?

A:  Could I get a Significant charge for than one.  It was clearly a big
deal to my character.  He'd been thinking about it for years...

GM:  Okay, but only because I'm going under the assumption that you had the
idea at the time and you didn't want to slow down game.

A:  Have I told you lately that I love you?

I just love when any instance of human life can be easily turned into a
numerical value in charges, money, or experience.  It gives me the cold
pricklies...
