Yes, he's quite specifically described as descended from Cain.  See:

...Grendel the demon, possessor of the moors,began his crimes.  He was of a race of monsters exiled from mankind by God-- He was of the race of Cain, that man punished for  murdering his brother.

I lost the line breaks (and line numbers, sorry) when copying, but that's a quote from one translation I found online.

Grendel makes for another Outsider, (he's described as the 'wanderer of the wastelands' and is denied a place in their society) of a variety quite similar to the vampire minus its seductive aspects (perhaps more like the nosferatu than like Bela Lugosi).
