[UA] Newbie Greetings and question(s)

I believe that Fly to Heaven only has four pregenerated
characters.  Three of the others have between four and six,
I believe (not entirely sure).

Jailbreak--my personal favorite--has nine pregenerated
characters.  However, Greg Stolze has listed some nice ways
that you can run this with as little as four players.  

I suggest you run Jailbreak as a quasi-LARP.  Give them a
nice open area to run around in, and make all rolls
yourself so that it won't distract from the action.

I've never played Unknown Armies but I want to.
Currently I'm playing with a group that likes the Deadlands
rpg. I've read the basic rules to UA and like them alot.

My next step is in ordering One-Shots from Atlas. It's
on the way, but I'm impatient. I know this supplement
contains a handful of stores; I assume that each story
offers pregenerated characters. How many characters are
needed for the stories?
I ask because not everyone in the group will want to
play UA.
