Drugs are certainly a fascinating subject and one that
I confess I haven't, personally, experimented with
much.
Jonathan Lethem uses drugs to create a fantastic
surreal effect in Amnesia Moon when the main
character, Chaos, can only visit two people he
desperately wants to meet "inside" a drug. When he
injects a dose of this amber stuff in a syringe, the
people he wants to talk to exist. They want him to
stay in the drug.
I thought a concept like that would be fun for the
Occult Underground. Maybe there's a cabal out there
whose leaders only exist when their followers are
tripping. It would be like taking the garden of
earthly delights and shifting it into a pocket
universe that only exists when it's raining. A perfect
assassin's hiding place, I should think, or a perfect
way to give players a surreal twist on their next
conspiracy hunt.
