This is a bad place to ask for advice about what to do about a friend of
yours who's making threats against someone else. We don't know the parties
involved. We don't know the laws of the country you're in. Given how email
propogates, it could be all over before some of us have read your message.
So what were you expecting the list-members to say? "Wow, that's so cool?"
Tim gave you the same advice I would have if I'd read your mail before
reading his. If someone's life is in danger, you ring the police. Doesn't
matter if it means your friend would be locked up - if he's in a state
where he's making threats like that, you've got to assume that he's capable
of carrying out those threats. And if you haven't acted because you don't
want to get him in trouble, and he does hurt someone, you bear some of the
moral responsibility for that person being hurt.
ObUA: There isn't any. Flames to private mail, please.
John
