I would say that more than an "embodied archetype" it's a "reserved archetype."  Yes, admittedly, a very special case.  Think of it as the center of the wheel: Everything else turns and changes, but the absolute center stays in place.

Not actually something I'd thought much about, really.  I suppose there could be.  On the other hand, if you're the Comte and can intuit the direction of the nearest First And Last Avatar by watching the twirl of a falling leaf... how much competition would you really have?  Even assuming he doesn't take the cheap 'n' dirty option of just kacking the punk, he's so many moves ahead that tabooing the competition (or getting someone else to get the competition to taboo him/herself) wouldn't really be that challenging.

Hm... could be a campaign there.  The PCs are all pawns of the Comte (whom they know by various names -- Sherriff Orczy, Professor Morrie O'Harty, Major Mike Hiavelli, Keyser Sousa...) who periodically sends them off to interfere with his rivals.
