Here's the deal: cut out the metagame bits, but keep the part about the players being thought insane by the psychiatrist.  They talk about epideromancers making skin melt or whatever they've seen, and the psychiatrist is just like "yup, here's a bunch of loonies.  lock them up before they hurt someone while hunting 'monsters'"
