I don't recall a Mentor, but I'm to goddamned lazy to get the book from the 
other end of the house to check.

Mentor doesn't really sum up what I'm thinking of, anyhow. Although some 
people who fit this archetype might be like mentors, many would not be - 
either being more like a comrade or ally, or not having the frequent 
presence that a mentor needs. I thought that my uncle was pretty wonderful 
when I was 6, and I saw him maybe three times per year.
