Mac McRoberts -- my neighbor two doors down when I was growing up.  He had
a model steam engine that was all red painted iron and gleaming steel
pistons.  I have no idea how young I must have been, but that was the most
amazing thing I'd ever seen.  He also told me there were goblins living
under Eleanor's lawn.

If the reinstatement of capital punishment was clearly doing nothing to
reduce the number of murders in those states permitting it, it certainly
appeared to be cutting down on the number of confessions.
