Oh, that's immanently UAble.

I could set up a sweet UA series about this.
1) Start out with a month or two of setup in which the new PCs learn the OU ropes. Specifically, they tangle with the Mafia and learn about the Mafia's anti-magick stance. But this should be a fairly minor note.
2) After a series of small, one-shot style events they stumble onto this "black magic" smuggling ring. Being RPGers, the players instantly assume the magick is real and freak out.
3) In the course of their investigations, they find out that the magick is a bigass hoax and that the police are (for whatever reason) helpless and/or paid off.
4) An attempt to deal with the problem directly exacts a brutal price.
5) The PCs, if needed, get a gentle reminder that the Mafia hates the occult.
6) The real occultist PCs sic the criminal Mafia on the fake occultist criminals.
7) With the Mafia cleaning out the riff-raff, the PCs can move in and shank the leadership before they sell out to the mob.
