I don't know if UA (specifically) travels well, but globally most US RPGs are
broadly available in Europe. UA was distributed right from the start at least
in France, and most probably in Germany (where, while being far from big, it
still can be found quite easily), Spain, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland, ...
I'm not particularly surprised that it reached Croatia or Poland, since I
remember getting my hands on a polish fanzine.

You've made it in my personal list of Best Quotes And Sigs. Definitely.

I don't know if what is written in UA is even valid for the US (after all, it
is fiction), but, as written, I wouldn't say it would be relevant for Europe.
First problem, UA focuses quite a lot on cities, and there seems to be a big
difference between an american and a european town (for the record, Frankfurt
is considered an "american" city because it has, what, 10 skyscrapers between
30 and 50 stories high. And, yes, 2 or 3 roads cross at right angles :)
2nd thing, the level of violence depicted. I'm 26, I've never had a real gun in
my hand, I've never even had a close look at one (I've seen a rifle once or
twice, though). None of my close friends or family own a firearm. I can't say
for sure for people I know less, but I suspect they don't either. I've never
been in a real fight nor witnessed one. And, without having ever lived in
really bad neighbourhoods, I'm no secluded ermit either (I've been living right
in the middle of Paris and it's not really the most uneventful of places you
can find in the world :). I've been directly physically threatened only once
(to little extent).
In most of western europe, the situation is (in 99% of the locations):
- you own a weapon -> bad
- you use it? -> *BIG* trouble
So obviously it leads to quite a different "feel" for the game. For example the
TOSG is not really possible here.
About occult activities, it's hard to say, apparently we also have a good share
here too. On the other hand, after reading another post, I realized I had only
2 churches and no other religious group representation that I know of in a
circle of 1km around my home.
