I have this recurring fantasy where I team up with world famous
photographer Cindy Sherman. (Seen her stuff? It's fan-fucking-tastic.)
Sherman takes 77 photographs that correspond to the cards in the tarot
deck. Most of them look like pictures people took with their home cameras,
some are done like newspaper art, etc. etc. Then, when I've got these in
hand, I write up a novel called "The Tarot of the World" in which a guy who
works at a photo developing lab starts seeing the pattern and tries to
figure out what's going on by assembling all these archetypical images.
(I'm thinking the book ends with him looking for the the Ten of Swords --
only to become it.)

If the reinstatement of capital punishment was clearly doing nothing to
reduce the number of murders in those states permitting it, it certainly
appeared to be cutting down on the number of confessions.
