What a coincidence.  The Cassady "For Whom the Bell"
Toles (that's probably not the right pronunciation,
but it worked for the scenario) was going to be this
guy who everyone assumed was the local Avatar of the
executioner when, in fact, the Avatar was a
12-year-old girl on orders from her psychotic father
(who doesn't realize he's giving the "kill" orders. 
he just rants about various people and his daughter
takes his gun and does the job for him.  She's
following the Avatar intuitively rather than
consciously.)
