Given the nature of the paradox that fuels Entropomancy, that an adept must
"relinquish control" over his life to gain a charge, I really don't see what
the problem is. If the Entropomancer isn't relinquishing control, he ain't
getting the charge. This should involve some premeditation on the part of
the character. You can't announce, "I'm relinquishing control" as you walk
into a random room, in the hopes that something nasty is going to happen
once the door opens. Unless you have an inkling of what that danger is, you
can't very well relinquish control over your actions in regard to that
danger. As I see it, you and the universe look at each other, eye to eye.
You know the danger. It knows the danger. You know the consequences, and
it knows the consequences. If there's any imbalance on either side, no
charge is transferred. There's a ritual nature to all of this--if the terms
are not agreed to, prior to the 'risk,' then there's no real understanding
of what might be gained or lost by relinquishing control, and thus no charge
is apportioned.
