[UA] Banking Conspiracies

Well, it makes perfect sense. If you owe someone
money, the have a kind of power over you. Plutomancy
and the domain of ownership reflect that pretty well.

It seems like there's a limit to how many people any
one organization can handle at any one time. If times
get tough and you have too many debtors, they'll turn
on you in a hail of blood and fire.

The illusion of freedom is an important one and
nothing belies that illusion like debt. I think that
makes the Plutomancers the most enslaved-to-magic of
all the adepts. A dipsomancer is always going to be an
alcoholic, but alcoholism can be fought. A
pornomancer could fall in love and a epideromancer
could give up and go to a hospital. But the
plutomancer is caught in a cycle of debt and gains
that will not go away.

"Fight Club" reflects that resentment of debt pretty
clearly. I think "The Space Merchants" is also a
great reflection on debt and consumerism.

Man, I can't seem to write coherently at all tonight.
I'm going to bed and argue with my wife about which
credit card to blow our tax refund on this year.
