See, I didn't much like Tarantino to begin with and I
liked Robert Rodriquez's part of "Dusk 'Till Dawn"
better than ol' Quentin's.

You have a point about positioning, though. UA is a
game on the outskirts of the market. It's insane to
try and compete directly with the Big Boys, but that
doesn't mean you can't compete. Jeep, Volvo and
Volkswagon built themselves into pretty mighty forces
even though they were up against brands like the
almighty Chrystler for decades.

I think UA is doing a good job with that, so far, but,
then again, I thought R. Talsorian was doing a good
job, too. GURPs, by far, has got this philosophy down
to a tee, making themselves the one-stop setting book
kings.

I don't know if UA's nitch is Film Noir, though. That
certainly isn't what attracts me to the game. There
seems like some sort of respect for humanity exists
therein which I don't find other places. It might be
bloated, corrupt respect, but it's there (just like in
Noir.)

Also, I like the system. It boils down Stats and
Skills into very simple terms which everyone can
understand. I may not use the initiative rules and I
may put a lot of the stress rules on the back burner
(they're good, too), but the core idea of the system
is simple and easy to grasp -if a little difficult to
explain to old timers.

Whoops. Forgot to mention this one and Feng Shui on
my list of Systems I like. Actually, I like HKAT's
system better than Feng Shui.
