HAH! Got it in one.

Stolze does almost exactly that in the Mak Attax sourcebook he's working on
(which may or may not be the next book after WEEP; dunno yet). TOSG tries to
figure out why their beloved Y2K meltdown didn't come off, and they spot the
common thread in all their failed plots, and then they really start to freak
out.

I wouldn't have spilled the beans so soon, but I had to congratulate you on
your Greglike Thought Process. This idea never even vaguely occurred to me.
