Fortunately I'm working with the RPGA in the UK, they're rather more
flexible when it comes to the "good taste" guidelines than the US
equivalent. Even so, I expected my proposal to be turned down flat: the
characters are all seriously f***ed-up high school kids, and the game
features drugs, perverted (and I use the word advisedly) sex, graphic
violence and pretty much everything in it breaks the "good taste" rules.
I was really surprised when they accepted it, even with the proviso of
tagging it "mature players only" (I wouldn't have it otherwise) and the
late night slot. I may still have to cut a couple of scenes - I wrote
the game for eight characters, but RPGA games run with a maximum of six
- but otherwise it's been accepted "as is".
And just for luck, I'm running a Kult version of the same scenario (also
RPGA-sanctioned) the following night.
