Well, I've been looking for a fitting label for years...

I was raised Catholic as well, but that seems to be something that doesn't
stick very well with people on this list. I made upmy mind early that this
faith surely was no closer to the truth than any other.

Mostly I'm interested in religion (as opposed to faith) as a subject for
study. I like mysticism and gnosticism without the trappings of a particular
faith. I believe that science isn't the be-and-end-all; rather it is
studying the coin of truth on the face side only and ignores the flip side.
After all, when science tells us the chance for us to exist is one in a
gazillion, but we do, then the reverse is also true: the chance that science
is right is also only one in a gazillion.

So I prefer to believe that there is some sort of meaning in the universe.
Religions are ways to define that for ourselves, as are many philosophies.
All of these are trying to scale the same mountain, but from different
sides. We'll all meet at the top one day if we manage not to kill each other
in the meantime.
