Based on the fact that to have any realistic chance of knocking out someone
with a single blow, it should realistically only be possible by someone who
either is constantly getting in fights and works at being as good as humanly
possible at it, someone who trains obsessively in martial arts, or someone
with some sort of magical capabilities.  

And then it should be rare, say less than 10% of all possible hits.  Hmm, if
only there were some way to do that....

Might I suggest the following cherry:

Cold Cock:  Opponent takes no damage but is knocked unconscious for a number
of rounds equal to the damage the blow would inflict.
