The sound you just heard was me creaming my jeans.

I like this a lot.  A little unofficial rule, sure.  Why
assign numbers to this?  I like having this completely be
GM fiat.  

It's awfully convenient for a clockworker to chuck painful
memories, but when he realizes that his constructs bleed
those memories into other people, then what does he do?

If he's a toymaker, then he would rather sacrifice happy
memories so that his toys give children joy.  The downside
is that all he remembers are the painful memories.  Tricky.

And the exhaust need not be obvious.  The human-like
constructs just exude an odor...or maybe not even with an
odor.  People just don't notice it.

Very cool idea.
