Well, that certainly helps.  It gives me an angle,
anyway, and that's usually enough.  But are there any
other ways that someone can think of to emphasize the
scariness of the IC?  I want to introduce the
archetypes in a campaign I'm working on, but I
hesitate to do so because they're so hard to express.
