Well, seeing as it was always intended to be part two of a trilogy, it's not 
quite that much of a downer. We always knew the good guys would come back in 
part 3.

Hmm. Now I want to do something involving an alternate earth where Return of 
the Jedi was never made, Star Wars ended with ESD, and an entire generation 
is plunged into depression and nihilism.... :-)
