Well, you have an extremely good point there, but
sometimes the old imagination like to twiddle with the
physical form of someone to express their inner
differences.  I'm not really sure how being short and
squat reflects being a miner (or very literal minded
or filled with a gleeful bloodlust), but it seems to
work.

Humans certainly come in a very effective visual
variety all by themselves, but elves and dwarves and
snakemen and ghouls and the cousins of nyogtha give
that variety a little shove.

Now, I'm not saying that humanity isn't colorful all
by itself, but sometimes I want to draw extra
curly-ques on the characters in my head.  Childish, really.
