This French guy, of course, is not the only person to
propose that there are only so many stories to go
around, of couse.  When I was first running... um...
this Other Game, which isn't... um... UA (it was about
faeries), I got all excited and dug into Stith
Thompson's motiff index, photocopying most of the
pages on magic and impossible tasks.  I still use it
for UA, peppering it, like Dr. Emelius Brown of the
correspondence college of witchcraft (wouldn't the
Bookman and Swinburne make a great UA team?)
