[UA] OT stuff

The reason I joined this list was because I heard it
was full of interesting off-topic stuff. (I was warned
before hand that I'd have to check my mailbox every
couple of days or have it explode.) I don't mind
discussing games, and it's nice to have something to
fall back on, but this is the first Mailing List I've
run across where everyone seems to be a well-read and
capable debater. I see something every day that
amazes me, even in the dumb old "religion" debate (I
liked --G's summary of Calvinism, for instance, even
if it was a Gross Oversimplification.)

I half expect to see a discussion of how Mussorgsky is
connected to the King in Yellow (although I admit I
can't recognize "Pictures in an Exhibition" when I
hear it on someone's cell phone any better than I can
pick out the theme to "To Catch a Thief.")

So I'm almost exactly the opposite of Mr. Norwood. I
don't mind a little rules discussion, but I sure do
dig those tangents.
