But you see, there's the trick. All the examples are going to be modern.
The "junk merchants" of the period were normally really poor. They got by
selling things of no value for a little. I haven't been able to find an
instance in historical record (using primary sources) of someone who was
rich without working hard (on some level). It can be argued Guildmasters
didn't "work as hard" as journeymen, but they in truth did a different sort
of work.
If you can find a historical example, please disprove me.
