I began to imagine, as an equal and opposite force in reaction to this, a plutomancer televangelist, thinking that his powers are in some way gifts from God.  He'd make an interesting NPC, especially if he really believe, but the players think he's just scamming the folks.

Most or all the published schools are religiously neutral.  Mechanomancy'd have the hardest time, in my mind, as the whole thing is sort of a mirror or jewish lore about the golem and of god creating man.  It could be done, however.  Mechanomancy also happens to be rather old-school magick, so the connection being strongest there makes some sense, IMHO.  

Probably, there were a handful of schools even more religiously inclined long ago, when the Church had huge power, but they've fallen away as atheism, agnosticism and alternative religion have become increasingly popular alternatives.
